Coyotes are Safe, Respectful, and Responsible! Jamisyn and Hunter were caught being safe, respectful, and responsible! It was Hunter’s lucky day — he got caught TWICE! Congratulations to these 3 Lady Coyote Basketball players for completing the 5,000 made shot club this summer. Athletes are only allowed to track 150 made shots a day to reach their goal of 5,000 a summer. Jenna Bartak and Raylee Bachman have now completed 2 summers of this and are a part of the 10,000 made shot club. Tenley Potter has completed 3 summers and is the sole member of the 15,000 made shot club.

September is School Attendance Awareness Month in Nebraska, and at Anselmo-Merna we’re using this opportunity to emphasize something simple but important: when kids are here, they learn.

As part of our effort to improve attendance, we’ll be recognizing students for strong attendance throughout the year. At the end of the first quarter, we’ll recognize the winners of our 1st Quarter Attendance Challenge.

Our goal is simple: Everyone. Every day.

We also understand that some absences are unavoidable. Illness, doctor appointments, and other circumstances will happen. When possible, providing documentation such as a doctor’s note is helpful as we track and monitor attendance.

Attendance is especially important for students in grades 9–12, where students are earning credits toward graduation. Absences that accumulate over time can negatively affect a student’s ability to earn those credits and stay on track for graduation.

Thank you to our students and families for helping us make attendance a priority. If you have questions about attendance, please reach out.

The Coyote Savings Bank started today! We appreciate Nebraska State Bank helping our kids learn about what good customer service looks like, how money works, and the importance of saving! Our 6th grade tellers are loving their new responsibilities! Coyote Savings Bank will be opened every Wednesday morning for deposits! #GoCoyotes! #OnePackOnePurpose!

Happy Tech Coordinator Appreciation Day to our favorite leg wrestling champion!

The Senior class had the opportunity to go to Kearney to watch the musical Come From Away. Come From Away is the story of around 7,000 people that landed in Gander on 9/11 when the American air space was locked down and were stuck there for 4-5 days. It was a great chance for our kids to see the light of humanity in one of the darkest days. All cast members represented a real person from that day and during the discussion after, a lady from Lincoln who landed in Gander also shared her experience.
