Nebraska Beef in Schools
Nebraska Beef in Schools:
A trend is catching on in Nebraska- beef is what’s for lunch in schools. Great quality, Nebraska beef served more frequently in schools across Nebraska.
Today, local cattlemen groups and other agricultural organizations have organized across the state to increase the offering of beef in school lunches. Nebraska cattlemen have showcased the success of some of these programs recently, and interest is growing as other cattlemen and school districts explore the possibilities of adding more beef to the menu.
Anselmo-Merna has joined the push to put more beef on the table. Over the last two years, our patrons have donated beef to the school’s lunch program. Our students have enjoyed the beef and are thankful for the donations made by area cattlemen.
We would like to thank our local producers who have donated to the program and encourage other local producers to donate. If you are interested in donating, please contact Pat Osmond or Carlie Wells at Anselmo-Merna Schools at 308.643.2224.
